- Art On A Kart
- In April of 2012, I began relief teaching at EtonHouse International School, in Singapore! (The school where my oldest daughter, PE, attends!) I began relief teaching to earn extra spending money for my upcoming trip to China!! One day the administrator came to me and offered me a job......TEACHING ART! Not READING, not MATH, not WRITING, not SCIENCE, not SOCIAL STUDIES......but ART!! I was excited and overwhelmed. WHY????!!!! I had never taught JUST ART. How do you begin to teach art? What do you tell the children? What do I teach other than painting and cutting paper? What a challenge I was about to undertake...... A dear friend had recently told me, "Good teaching is good teaching. If you are a good teacher, you can TEACH ANYTHING!! You have the skills and the experience, and you understand best teaching practices." "Ok", I thought......maybe I CAN DO THIS! I decided I would engage in this challenge and it would definately be a HANDS ON LEARNING EXPERIENCE!! I was just a little scared......
